The Countdown

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

The countdown is well and truly on with less than a fortnight until the Manchester 10k. Training is going extremely well.

Please support the boys and pledge your donation. Every £1 helps along the way.

We would love for you to be there on the day giving the boys your support and cheering them on. The boys will be in the Pink Wave and sporting RP: Fighting Blindness t-shirts and hopefully you will be able to spot them in the the crowds.

33 Days until Manchester 10k

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

There are only 33 days to go for the Great Manchester Run. The boys are training hard for the event and despite coming down with some nasty bugs they are running on! Offer your support by sponsoring the boys at our just Giving page.

Future Events

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

After the huge success of Friday night we will be arranging a number of other events for the coming months.

Our next event will be held in the Bellevue Pub, Glebeland Street, Merthyr Tydfil on 17th July. The event will be a live music night, showcasing the talents of local bands and soloists. Sierra Alpha have expressed an interest in performing at this event and we hope to confirm their attendance soon along with the rest of the lineup. Tickets for the event will be on sale shortly.

We will also be arranging for a fine dining night to be held in Llanelli, and the Colliers have kindly offered their restaurant for this event. We are looking at dates for this event and details will be posted soon.

The third event we have planned will be a Halloween Pub Quiz (fancy dress optional) to be held in Barry. This will be held on Friday 30th October and we will confirm the venue and other details closer to the time.

We hope to hold a Christmas event and plans are underway for this.

If you can help us at an event, by providing a venue; catering; entertainment; prizes; or any other suuport we would love to hear from you. Please contact us on Laurie@running4rp.com

Thanks for your ongoing support.

CABERET HUGE SUCCESS

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Our thanks go to all the performers and supporters who attended the Caberet evening on Friday 3rd April.

The night went extremely well and £685 was raised for BRPS.

We are immensely grateful for everyones support.

The show kicked off at the beginning of the night with a local theatre group, New Directions performing sections of the hit musical We Will Rock You. The rendition was a delight and the performers were excellent. They were followed by a number of other acts, including Tammy Davies, Benn Williams, SA15 and our very own Sarah McGinley. The headliners for the night, local band Sierra Alpha were a huge hit with their great songs and beats.  They have also kindly agreed to perform at a future event we are organising and details of the event will be confirmed at a later date.

We are so grateful for everyone’s support and hope that our future events will be just as big a hit.

Keep your eyes peeled for photo’s of the night which will be posted soon.

Come to the Cabaret

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Sarah McGinley has arranged a fantastic show to be held in Llanelli.

The show will be held at  The Club, 4 Queen Victoria Road, Llanelli   on Friday 3 April at 7.00pm.

Sarah has put together an amazing line up for the night sure to entertain us all.

The line up will showcase the talents of New Directions Theatre Company, SA15 Theatre Company, Tammy Davies, Ben Williams and Sarah McGinley. Kenny Morris, local Llanelli radio star will also be offering his services for the night and introducing the acts.

The highlight of the night will be the shows headlining act, Sierra Alpha. Sierra Alpha are a well known local band who perform feelgood pop/rock songs cut with crystal meth - massively addictive and entirely legal (well, on prescription). With a great mix of energetic songs they have succeeded in their attempt to create sophisticated pop. Their coherent style, swirling melodies and soaring choruses make them that band you can jump up and down about.

They are sure to draw in the crowds with their huge following and popularity.

We are extremely grateful to all the acts for performing at the show.

Come along and enjoy the Cabaret. Tickets are £5 per person and can be booked in advance to ensure your place email events@running4rp.co.uk
